How to adjust the plow for the Neva power tiller

Improved undercarriage

The first thing that users of a power tiller think about is how to make a cart with a seat to it. A heavy, physically demanding application of lever arm technology is just the right way to get the job done. However, using a trailer reduces the stability of the vehicle. Eliminate this problem by extending the wheelbase. This is done with the help of extensions, which are attached to the half-axle with pins or bolts. Having solved the stability problem, the operator is faced with another issue: the machine does not steer well. Helps give it good maneuverability. This device is made by analogy with car assemblies. Homemade unblockers for power tillers are made with ordinary household tools. angle grinder, welding and grinding lathe.

The low weight of the power tiller is the reason for poor traction of the wheels with the ground. Slipping is a frequent phenomenon when lifting virgin lands, working on wet ground or driving in the snow. To avoid slippage, weighting agents are attached to power tillers.

These devices are divided into the following categories:

  • Wheels. These are discs that are attached to the wheels or hubs. The discs are made of metal, concrete or hollow and filled with sand. Weight of wheel weights can be 30-70 kg.
  • External. Made of any heavy material (steel, lead, concrete). Fixed to the body with hooks or bolts. Some craftsmen weld a frame of angle bars to the body. It is designed to hold sandbags, bricks, scrap metal, and other heavy objects.

It is possible to improve motoblock passability by mounting the skimmers. The simplest way to make trailing blades is to make a rim from a strip of metal and weld the blades to it. The diameter of the rim should be larger than the rims and smaller than the tires. The rim is made with the tires flat. Once the hitch is installed, the wheel is pumped.

It is possible to improve the transmission by installing a homemade variator on the engine. The belt and disc system allows you to change the speed of the machine smoothly, without jerking or vibration.

Preparing the power tiller for plowing

Before ploughing a field you must prepare your power tiller. What you need to do? Let’s break it all down in order.

It is best to bring the single axle tractor to the plowing site without the plow and trailing shoes. Usually take a single axle tractor that has not been equipped with a toolbox to the garden. If you have a plot of land next to the house, you can prepare the tractor for plowing in any place with a level surface.

When the single-axle tractor is brought to the place of preparation for work, the transport wheels (B) must be replaced with special ground wheels. To make it easier to remove the transport wheels, you can put a stand (A) under the hitch of the walking tractor at the back of the tractor unit.

Use extra-long hubs (A) instead of the hubs on which the crab crab’s transport wheels are mounted. This is necessary to increase the distance between the lifting hooks in order to ensure the stability of the walking tractor during plowing.

After installing the hubs you can install the tines (A). Be sure to pay attention to the correctness of their installation. The herringbone-shaped tread (B) should have a direction as shown in the photo. the narrowing of the tread is the direction forward.

When both plows are in place, you can remove the stand (A) and proceed to the next step of the job. preparing the plow to work.

There is nothing complicated about setting up. For this you will need:

This is where the installation ends and you should move on to the next step. adjustment.

Adjustment is a very important step, as the quality of plowing and the amount of effort spent depends on it. If not properly adjusted, the single axle tractor will not be able to do its job properly and will take a long time for simple tasks.

Using

Depending on the model and equipped with additional attachments, power tillers “Neva MB2″ are used for:

  • plowing the ground;
  • loosening;
  • cultivating the soil;
  • furrowing the ground before planting;
  • hoeing;
  • Digging out potatoes;
  • weeding and snow removal.

The single-axle tractor “Neva MB2″ is considered a classic for domestic buyers

Cultivating

The engine running-in is an important stage in the machine operation that must be done after a long idle period or after the purchase of a new machine. Reliable operation of the “Neva MB2″ power tiller depends on a correct running-in period. This test is necessary to prolong the service life of your power tiller. Before the running-in period, check all connections and make sure that all parts are in good working order.

Cultivate

Because of its multi-functionality, the Neva MB2 power tiller can also be used as a cultivator.

Thanks to this machine, it is possible to perform several types of difficult earthworks:

  • Cultivate overgrown grass. This means that the single-axle tractor “Neva MB2″ is ideal for tilling land overgrown with weeds and grass. If the weeds are overgrown with grass, it is necessary to cut the grass before cultivating.
  • Plowing a permanently cultivated piece of land. In this case the ground is first fertilized and then a cultivator is used to make furrows for planting.
  • Digging up a crop. The potato digger is ideal for digging out root crops. During the operation of the power tiller adjust the length of the digger stand, and in order not to damage the potato tubers, they are dug through the row.

Several types of complex earthwork can be performed thanks to this machine

Tilting the field board

For those who already have experience in plowing land with a power tiller, there is no need to explain what to do at this stage. Below is information for those who encounter this activity for the first time.

The slope of the field board, or as it is also called the angle of attack, is the slope of the plow plane level relative to the surface. The adjustment is made by means of a screw handle.

  • Place the single axle tractor with plow on the stands mentioned at the beginning of this article.
  • Turn the adjustment handle to maximum so that the field board lies completely on the ground, without any gaps.
  • Start turning the handle in the opposite direction until the rear end is 2-3 centimeters above the ground.

If you make a mistake here, there will be consequences:

WHY DOES THE PLOUGH PLOW ITSELF?? Peculiarities of setting and adjusting a plough, when plowing with a power tiller.

  • With a large angle of attack, the plow will turn into an anchor. the single-axle tractor will constantly bog down and have a hard time moving forward;
  • If the angle is small. the desired layer of soil will not be removed.

Check if everything is correct, you can at the plowing stage. the single axle tractor should not rest or go too easily.

How to install and adjust a plow for a power tiller?

In this section we will tell you how to adjust the plow on your Neva motoblock. The plow and hitch are the most important parts, without which you will not be able to plow the field with your power tiller. They need to be properly assembled and adjusted.

Every power tiller model has its own hitch. Sometimes you need to do some preliminary work on fixing it. You can learn how to attach the hitch from the instructions for your power tiller. Original hitch ensures reliable connection of the unit to the attached implements.

Adjustment of the plow also requires certain knowledge and takes place in several steps:

How to choose a plough for your power tiller

Choosing a plough, pay attention to technical characteristics of your power tiller. For processing small plots, the single-hoe unit is suitable, and if you own a heavy diesel power tiller, you can connect a dual-hoe unit, which speeds up the process of cultivating the land by half, compared to the single-hoe unit.

Single hinged SCOUT PL-130 plough

SCOUT PL-130 monohull plough is attached to one-point hitch on tractors and tillers with power over 10 l. с.

The unit is fitted with an enlarged steel ploughshare, and the construction itself is made reliably. you can forget about sharpening the ploughshare. To regulate ploughing depth on uneven terrain a depth guide wheel is installed. Plough is designed for tillage of heavy loamy soils and virgin lands.

When working with the floating mode of the hydraulic spreader, the unit needs to be weighted.

Single hinged plough SKAUT PL-130 HYD with undercutting disk

SCOUT PL-130 HYD hinged plough has a scraper disk for more effective work on turf. The unit connects to mini-tractors and tillers with single-point hitch. The working part is made of robust steel.

The angle of approach of the share is adjusted by means of turnbuckles. Limiting wheel adjusts plowing depth. Cutting disc is designed for undercutting of plant roots during plowing that increases productivity and quality of plowing.

For ploughing heavy soils and fallow lands it is necessary to install weighting elements: 80 kg at the front and 60 kg at the back.

SCOUT PL-225 double hinged plough

SCOUT PL-130 is the only two-hoe plough that can be connected to a power tiller. The machine is attached with a single-point hitch. But to work, you need a single-axle tractor or mini-tractor with a capacity of 15 liters or more. с. plough’s base is a triangular frame with turnbuckles, which regulate horizontal and vertical position. Ploughshare body is adjusted by the stand. The plough’s depth is adjusted by a stop wheel.

For operation on loamy soils and previously uncultivated areas, it is necessary to make the construction heavier.

Tips and tricks

The first and most important thing to note is to observe safety precautions.

In general, the structure of a power tiller is clear and simple. But in any case, as with any other equipment, it needs care and timely maintenance and replacement of consumables. Use only quality spare parts recommended by the manufacturer.

To avoid mixing up the fertile layer and what is underneath, change the direction of plowing each season. That way you reduce the likelihood of a bad harvest.

If your plough does not have height adjustment, you can drill an extra hole in the stand yourself. But make sure that the construction does not lose its rigidity.

Step by step instruction. Adjusting a power tiller

Step by step instruction. Adjusting the plough for your power tiller

Plowing the land is one of the most important jobs in the fall and spring seasons. This work is necessary to prepare the soil for planting or sowing a variety of crops. Plowing is performed by the plow for the power tiller, which is very important to adjust.

How to correctly adjust the plow so that the land is plowed correctly, evenly, accurately and quickly. You’ll find the answer in our article.

Preparing your power tiller for ploughing

Plowing the soil begins with preparing the power tiller. Let’s understand in detail how to do it.

Before plowing, the single-axle tractor must be unpacked. It must be transported to the place of work without trailers and other attachments. Most often, the delivery of equipment to the place of destination is carried out with the help of a car. If the area you are going to plow is close to your home, you need to assemble the tractor on level ground wherever is most convenient for you.

Step one. Removing the transport wheels

So, you have taken your single-axle tractor to the area you are going to plow. The first thing to do is to remove the transport wheels and replace them with special grousers. To make this part of the job easier you can put a stand under the tractor hitch located behind the tractor. You need the grousers to get a better grip on the ground. They are just a necessary tool for plowing, planting potatoes, carrots and beets.

At the second stage of preparation of the motor-block before plowing, it is necessary to replace the hubs, on which the transport wheels were installed, with extended ones. This is to ensure that the distance between the treadplates has slightly increased. This makes the tractor much more stable during work.

You have already fitted the extended hubs? Now it’s time to install the skids. It is very important that these elements are properly installed. This factor is checked with the direction of the tread pattern. A narrowing of the tread pattern indicates forward movement.

You can now remove the stand and adjust the plough. To assemble the plough, you put the hitch on the plough. This hitch and plow must be assembled in order to mount it to the single-axle tractor at a later date.

At this stage you need to equip the plough, the hitch and the wrenches.

To adjust the depth you want to plow, match the hole in the hub with the middle hole in the plow leg. After that, these elements are connected by means of a fastening bolt.

fixing bolt is installed into the upper hole in the plough leg and secured with a nut. It is extremely important that you do not overtighten all the nuts on the plough and hitch mountings, as you will have to loosen them later in the plough adjustment phase anyway. Now that the hitch is mounted onto the plough, you can move on to the next step.

Step four. Mounting the plough to a single axle tractor

After completing all the previous steps you can hitch the plough to the single axle tractor. To do it this way: one or two pins (it depends on the motoblock model) is mounted on the plough, and then the pins are firmly fixed with cotter pins.

To make it much easier for you to adjust the plough, it is recommended that the single axle tractor be placed on the plough stand. These can be two 150 by 150 millimeter cross-section bars. It is this size that will help set the optimal plowing depth, which should be in the range of 15 to 18 centimeters.

For easier adjustment, the plough should also be placed on a small surface, such as plywood or a board. This solution allows much more precise setting of the inclination from the heel of the plough to the nose. This angle can be adjusted using a special bolt on the hitch, which is very convenient. The way this is done is as follows:

adjust, plow, neva, power, tiller

1) Turn the adjustment bolt clockwise to lift the heel of the plough to increase tilling depth.

2) Turn the adjustment bolt counterclockwise, slightly lower the heel of the plough, and thereby reduce the ploughing depth.

It is imperative that the distance between the soil and the plough should be three to five centimetres. Otherwise, the plough will simply dig into the soil. If the angle of the plough is set incorrectly, the quality of ploughing will leave much to be desired. This will put much more strain on the engine and the operator’s hands. After adjustment tighten the fastening of the plough and hitch.

To measure the distance between the gearbox and the control surface (i.e. plywood or a board) use a tape measure (or other measuring device). The normal clearance is 15 to 20 cm. It is important to observe this condition.

Before plowing, test plowing and checking the adjustment of the plow. To do this you must:

Check furrow depth and blade quality.

Check the smooth running of the power tiller and the load on the operator’s hands.

Manufacturing of ridge plough power tiller || kalappai || agriculture tool || Building Strong

If you are satisfied with all of the above points, you can start plowing. If something is wrong, the plough must be readjusted.

Test plowing is done as follows.

Set up the single-axle tractor on the edge of the cultivated area.

Engage first gear and carefully squeeze the clutch lever. It is extremely important that the steering wheel of the tiller should be parallel to the surface of the plot, so that the single-axle tractor does not sink into the soil, but also does not rise above the cultivated area. When ploughing, there is no need for the operator to push the single axle tractor too hard, because this agricultural machine does its job easily without any additional effort.

After the first furrow it is absolutely necessary to check the ploughing depth. Use a tape measure or a ruler for this. If the adjustment values match those originally set, it means that you can start working.

Correct plough adjustment is essential for good ploughing. After work you need to clean the plough of dust and dirt, take it off the tractor and put it away until next use.

Important! If you work in the heat of the day, be sure to pause to allow the motor to cool.

Now you know how to mount and adjust the plough on your power tiller.
