Installation:
1) First, install the new flywheel in the same position as the old one. (Determine this position by the label)

  • Next, remove the starter and disconnect the rocker, both gearbox supports and ground wires for the reverse sensor.
  • When the levers are removed, there is enough transverse travel of the struts to disconnect the box from the engine.
  • Place the removed gearbox on the floor, you should now have full access to the flywheel and clutch.
  • To unscrew the flywheel bolts, you need to fix the flywheel itself well. For this, there is a special clamp, if you do not have one, you can make something similar. I made a homemade analogue for myself from a rail that was taken from a server rack, holes were made in it. After that, the guide was bolted to the flywheel using the basket mounting bolts. For this makeshift device, keep the flywheel from turning.
  • Before removing the flywheel, be sure to mark the relative position of the flywheel and crankshaft.
  • Knock off the old crown using a drift and hammer.
  • Replacing the flywheel crown of the VAZ 2109 is as follows. Take a new flywheel crown and warm it up. I personally used paper for this, I wrapped it around the flywheel and set it on fire.

The use of springs and a damper system for damping vibrations was widespread as early as the 80s. last century. However, at that time, the spring system was not so modernized as to completely guarantee that there was no oscillation.

The fact is that the huge mass of parts of the then engine, a large number of pistons and connecting rods, all of this in the total volume exceeded the capabilities of the damper system. The springs, no matter how powerful, could not cope with such a mass. effective resistance to vibrations also required an increase in KM at the output of the crankshaft.

Oscillations adversely affect not only the comForte of the driver and passengers, but can soon destroy the shafts, bearings and gears of the transmission. Therefore, it was so important to find a way to repay them efficiently and quickly.

There was a way out. 2-mass flywheel that absorbs vibrations completely and completely due to its torsion-spring system or TPRS.

Unfortunately, like any other mechanism, the 2-mass flywheel requires careful attention. Over time, it needs renovation. To do this, you have to remove the flywheel, in Russian conditions, often by independent forces. We will learn how to remove a dual-mass flywheel yourself without outside help.

One of the clear signs of a flywheel malfunction is the increased vibration of the internal combustion engine at specific speeds.   • the flywheel is fixed against scrolling (the mount is inserted between the gearbox retaining bolt and the flywheel crown, into one of the teeth);
  • the flywheel mounting bolts are unscrewed using a criss-cross pattern (first the upper and lower bolts, then the right and left, then the other two / four).

Attention. For unscrewing, as a rule, a 17 head with a long crank is used so that the effort is made as little as possible. However, you can also use a spanner key.

  • after the bolts have been removed, the support washer must be removed from the flywheel;
  • then the flywheel itself is removed.

During operation of the flywheel, the following types of damage are possible. This is a 2-mass flywheel version. So, here they are:

  • damage to the flywheel crown, or rather, its teeth;
  • damage to the support washer;
  • the formation of scoring and cracks on the surface of the flywheel adjacent to the clutch disc;
  • breakage of the damper system springs.

The 2-mass flywheel is known to consist of collapsible parts. To disassemble this type of flywheel, you will have to do the following:

  • cut off two rivets at this point;
  • the support washer is removed;
  • the flywheel bolts pull the 2-mass flywheel disc upward.

That’s all there is to it. In this way, we provide access to the interior of the 2-mass flywheel. There are springs located here that are worth checking for functionality. In most cases, if the 2-mass flywheel is damaged, then the entire damper system inside, together with the springs, is broken.

Mount the part back in the order of removal, only align correctly the holes on the crankshaft flange and flywheel (they are located asymmetrically).

    Replacing the crown

    To remove the flywheel crown, you need a hammer and a chisel (blunt).

    The removed flywheel is placed on a workbench or any secure base. With a core or a sharp chisel, it is necessary to outline the crown and the flywheel, if you outline it with a core, then you can put 2-3 points on the crown and also 2-3 points on the body of the flywheel. With a chisel, you can immediately make a notch at the same time on the crown and flywheel.

    This is necessary so that when the crown is installed back on the flywheel, return it to its “native” place, keeping the flywheel balancing as much as possible.

    Having made a mark on the crown, put the flywheel on the base and with the blows of a chisel along the edge of the crown, you begin to knock it off the flywheel.     Find 3-4 pieces of rubble or stone, about the size of a large walnut. Prepare a piece of rags of such a size that it is enough to cover the entire crown (namely the crown, the middle remains empty). It is desirable that the rags can be laid in two layers. You will also need 200 grams of oil waste and pliers.

    Lay the prepared stones either in a triangle or in a square according to the size of the crown and put the removed flywheel crown on top, saturate the rags with oil and put it on the crown. Set fire to the rags, and wait for it to completely burn out.

    How the chainsaw engine works

    In devices released recently, a single-cylinder two-stroke carburetor-type engine is installed. It includes several mechanisms that work harmoniously. The main components of the engine:

    How to remove

    The drive sprocket also serves as a drum. One of the main reasons for this block to break is the grinding of the sprocket teeth.     • Install the flywheel and all removed assemblies in the reverse order to removal. Lubricate the threads of the flywheel mounting bolts with an anaerobic thread lock, having previously degreased the bolts and the threaded holes for them. Tighten the bolts evenly crosswise to 108 Nm.

    • the steering wheel is folded from the running nut (you need to grind a new one or replace the nut from an unnecessary valve);
    • the flywheel wheel is damaged (it is broken and the spokes are broken off. you need to choose a key suitable for the size of the hub to rotate it, and then install a new wheel);
    • increased torque (you need to turn the flywheel more to operate. there is not enough lubrication of the running gears, you need to lubricate the unit).
