Hello, dear modelers! I think everyone has faced the problem of making laths for their projects. So it was decided to build a circular on the basis of an angle grinder. The idea is not new, on the Internet it is already written a lot of packs, well let me also insert my five cents. I warn you that the circular saw (especially made by your own hands) is a dangerous tool! I, as the author of this article, am not responsible for your life and health.

To build this machine we need:1) angle grinder (with maximum speed. 10 000 rpm)2) 125mm disc for wood (with speed. 10 000 rpm)3) Sheet metal thickness of 4 mm. и 2.5 mm.RPM disk and angle grinder should coincide, because when you overrevolution angle grinder can disc fly apart, and with a low cut will not be clean.

First of all I cut out a “table” with the size of 450mm from metal sheet of 4 mm thick (it is better to take 5 mm). 340mm. And the cutout for the disk. Then I tried the angle grinder with the disk. Marked where it would mount, drilled a hole and bolted it on. The second fixing point is on the angle (more about that later).

Next, from sheet metal 2.5 mm. bent corners. After adjusting the entire structure, it was pre-assembled with bolts and nuts. After making sure that the angle grinder wasn’t hanging around and was properly secured, the bolts and nuts were replaced with rivets. To make the rivets we used Soviet wood screws. Thickness of kerf 2.2 mm. Saws cleanly and I’m satisfied with the result.)

And now a little bit about the operation of this contraption. First, on and off the circular saw is done with the switch on the carrier (that is, when assembling the need to turn on the angle grinder and DO NOT FORGET THAT).
