The Mower Does Not Develop Speed

The gasoline trimmer does not pick up speed: the reasons and features of repair If your petrol cutter does not pick up speed or does not start at all, a number of problems can contribute to this. In this article, we will cover all the reasons why a gasoline trimmer does not reach full power, as well as ways to eliminate them. What to do if it starts, but does not develop maximum speed?

Troubleshooting methods

The first three reasons are fairly easy to eliminate. If the matter is in the mixture, it is necessary to pour out the old fuel from the tank, prepare a new emulsion from high-quality gasoline and engine oil (if your engine needs a mixture) and pour it into the fuel tank. If the trimmer is running on clean gasoline, it’s even easier.

In the second case, you must carefully free the trimmer parts from the wrapped grass.

The last reason why the brushcutter does not work properly will require a little more knowledge and skill from you.

In order to properly adjust the carburetor of the brushcutters, a certain procedure must be followed. First, clean the air filter thoroughly. The easiest way is to rinse it (it is advisable to sprinkle water on the filter regularly after 910 hours of operation).

After that, in the diagram of your trimmer, which is in the operating instructions for the device, find the adjustment screws. Usually there are three of them: the first is responsible for fuel supply, the second for idle, and the third is designed to limit the number of maximum engine speed.

Next, turn on the unit and wait for the engine to warm up.

Tighten the first (fuel mixture) adjusting screw slowly. Catch the moment when the motor starts to stall, and turn the propeller back 45 degrees. If you did not have time and the motor stalled, the screw should be turned 90 degrees. Open the throttle and watch the revs increase. Next, you should slowly unscrew the screw (each turn the same 45 degrees) until the moment when, at full throttle, the engine begins to firmly give out maximum revolutions.

The second screw, as mentioned above, controls the engine idle speed. By loosening it, you decrease the number of revolutions, while tightening it, you increase it. The screw needs to be adjusted so that the motor runs reliably at low revs. For better starting, speed up the engine slightly. At the same time, make sure that the motor rotates several tens of times before the knives / line reel starts to move. If the engine starts poorly, tighten the screw slightly.

The Mower Does Not Develop Speed

After you have adjusted the first two screws, test the unit at maximum engine speed. If necessary, you can limit it (maximum); this will protect the motor from boiling. To do this, you need to tackle the third screw. Unscrew the locking nut until the adjusting screw can be safely turned. To increase the maximum number of revolutions, the screw must be loosened; to decrease, on the contrary, tighten. Fix the position of the screw with a nut. Test the motor again.

Remember that carburetor adjustment is not a final procedure. During the operation of the brushcutter, you will most likely have to tinker with it more than once, because an unbalanced carburetor means both increased fuel consumption and a quick failure of the candles, not to mention a decrease in the power and performance of the device.

The reasons

Trimmers are reliable and durable (provided they are properly maintained, of course). Most often, malfunctions occur due to contamination of structural elements.

If the engine of your petrol cutter does not start, does not pick up speed, does not reach the power you need, or suddenly stalls, the reason may be:

  • Low-quality fuel (fuel mixture), the case may be in long-term storage or in non-compliance with the recipe for preparing the mixture;
  • Grass is wrapped around the shaft of the fishing line / knife;
  • Clogged air filter / muffler;
  • Unbalanced carburetor.

The gasoline trimmer is not gaining momentum: the reasons and features of the repair

To cut grass on a small lawn, it is not necessary to purchase an expensive and bulky lawn mower; it can be easily replaced by a gasoline / electric trimmer. The device of these machines is quite simple, they are easy to use and unpretentious in maintenance. But sometimes problems do happen. One of them, when the trimmer does not develop the maximum number of revolutions, will be discussed in this article.

Little tricks

  • If you are unable to tighten / loosen the adjusting screws properly, it may be that the spring is too thick and stiff. Then you can choose a more suitable one instead.
  • If your unit does not need pure gasoline, but its mixture with engine oil, strictly observe the proportions indicated in the operating instructions. There is one little thing: the recommended ratio is 1: 25 (for all brands of oil) or 1: 50 (for native oils). Try the first ratio first. If, with this recipe, oil drips appear on the motor, and heavy carbon deposits form on the candle, reduce the proportion of oil by half. This usually helps to fade traces and reduce carbon deposits.
  • To clean the spark plug electrodes from combustion products, you can use fine-grained sandpaper. Wipe them down with a dry cloth first and then gently sand them with sandpaper. If the space between the body of the device and the insulator is also clogged, a regular, unbent paper clip can help clean it. To do this, briefly soak the candle in diesel fuel, and then scrape off the dirt. If the blockage is small, one procedure is sufficient. In case of heavy dirt, it is sometimes necessary to repeat it several times. After complete cleaning, the candle must be wiped dry from the remaining diesel fuel, and then it can be used as intended.
  • Please note that a brushcutter (gasoline, electric or battery) of foreign production requires a little more maintenance than domestic ones. In particular, many strongly recommend entrusting the adjustment of the carburetor of a two-stroke engine to professionals, especially if your purchase has not expired the warranty period.
  • And finally, one more tip: follow all the manufacturer’s recommendations for the operation and maintenance of the device. This will prolong its smooth operation.

Benzokosa stalls

When purchasing a petrol cutter, you need to be prepared for the fact that, like in all other similar tools, breakdowns may also occur in it that will require repair.

However, you should not immediately run to the service center and pay a lot of money to the masters who convince you that there is a serious malfunction in the device.

The benzokosa stalls at high revs on gas

Perhaps the most common complaint associated with petrol trimmers is: The petrol trimmer is stalling.

Of course, a rather serious malfunction can also be the reason for this. However, in most cases the situation is much simpler than it seems at first glance.

To cope with such a problem, first of all, try to figure out its causes on your own, because after finding out the cause, it is much easier to deal with the problem, and sometimes it even self-destructs.

In fact, there are many reasons for this when the brushcutter stalls at high speeds.

Another is the presence of faults in the power supply system.

In this case, the petrol brush will stall at idle. A misalignment or improper adjustment of the carburetor can lead to problems with the power system.

The misalignment can be caused by vibrations that occur during the operation of the petrol cutter.

Incorrect adjustment of petrol cutters can be corrected by simply adjusting it in accordance with the requirements specified in the operating instructions.

In addition, sometimes gasoline trimmers can stall due to the fact that the valve located in the gas tank cap is simply clogged or stuck.

To find out, try using a scythe while loosening the gas cap.

If the device works properly in this mode, clean the valve.

Over, the brushcutter can stall due to poor fuel flow to the carburetor.

Why, then, does the device start up, you ask?

The reason for this is that at first the fuel gradually runs into the carburetor and there is enough fuel to operate at increased power.

However, then it is produced and at high revs the engine starts to stall.

As for the carburetor, the problem here may also be that its body is too tight.

The reason that the petrol brush stalls at high speeds on gas may also be air leaks.

This is the possible presence of a place through which air can pass during the heating process of the engine.

Be sure to check the fuel inlet hose, among other things. The problem may be that it is loose or cracked altogether.

These are the main reasons why a petrol brush can stall.

Why does the petrol trimmer stall

A scythe with a gasoline drive is a useful thing for owners of home gardens, lawns, and when the trimmer suddenly stalls, the work to clear the area from grass stops. The device itself is a rather complex mechanism, so there are many different reasons for its breakdown. The most common problems are contained in the operating instructions. You should know the reasons why the trimmer stalls in order to effectively repair the device yourself.

What could have broken

Problems with the petrol brush, due to the fact that this device does not start, are classified in a certain way by service specialists. They highlight faults with the following components of the mechanism:

  • An engine in which the piston and bearings may wear out or fail, crack the crankcase;
  • The fuel supply system, while the filter may be clogged or problems with the carburetor;
  • Mechanical damage to wires, tubes, hoses;
  • Ignition circuit.

Idle

At idle, common reasons for stopping the trimmer are as follows:

  • Dirt, misalignment or incorrectly adjusted carburetor adjustment;
  • Clogged air filter;

Replacing the air filter of brushcutters

Trimmer air filter

  • Reducing the speed of the gearbox when it heats up, which is a consequence of the use of an unsuitable fuel mixture;
  • Clogged throttle;
  • Air ingress into the system;
  • Not enough fuel to operate the petrol cutter.

When heated

The brushcutter often stops when it heats up. At the same time, it starts, works with jerks and gradually stops. This process occurs when the gasoline in the carburetor boils or the damper is installed in a rotary rather than disc type. In the latter case, the part is changed.

It happens that the trimmer heats up if the ignition circuit wire or coil is damaged. In order for the device to start working normally, parts are replaced.

Immediately after wound up

The unit may stall immediately after starting if the carburetor is misaligned or incorrectly adjusted, this causes an uneven fuel supply. The result of this is that the device vibrates distinctly. For troubleshooting, the carburetor is reconfigured, following the instructions for the mechanism.

Also, the engine stops when the fuel supply valve becomes clogged. In such cases, it is sufficient to simply clean it. If the brushcutter first worked, but then immediately stalled, then perhaps the fuel enters the carburetor unit with some difficulty. Weakening the valve helps to resolve the issue, which ensures free circulation of the mixture in the system.

The stoppage can also be caused by air leakage in the presence of mechanical damage to the hose (holes, cracks) that takes the fuel. In this case, add more revolutions to the drive in order to quickly expel air bubbles from the system.

When you press the gas

If, when you press the gas, the petrol cutter stops, then the reasons may be as follows.

  1. The most common variant is carburetor adjustment failure, which occurs when the drive is under significant stress, after prolonged inactivity of the mechanism, or when it is used in difficult conditions.
  2. Clogging of the fuel valve, which is eliminated by loosening it, as a result of which gasoline begins to flow normally through the system.
  3. Loosening and drooping of the cable in the carburetor. The fuel hose can also be stretched to the point of rupture due to significant stress.
  4. Clogged breather (non-return valve), as a result of which fuel does not flow into the tank.

If the problem is related to the carburetor unit, then it can be recognized by the appearance of vibrations of the brushcutter. When the hose bursts or the cable is stretched, these components are replaced.

Wrong fuel

An important fact is that for trouble-free operation of the tool, it is necessary to be careful enough directly to fuel. Since if this kind of mixture is not prepared correctly, then most chainsaws will simply not start. Therefore, not every owner will guess to look for the cause of the breakdown in the fuel. That is why, in order for your tool to always work correctly, you need to use exclusively high-quality gasoline for the mixture.

Otherwise, overexposure of the mixture directly in the canister will lead to the fact that it will lose all its octane properties and this will lead to significant problems with the instrument.

The main elements of chainsaws

Before starting to delve into the issues of breakdowns and tool repairs, let’s first figure out what the chainsaw itself consists of. First of all, I would like to note that this tool belongs to the category of technology, the operation of which directly depends directly on the internal combustion engine.

It is also important that chainsaws are equipped with a single cylinder engine, and the work of which is carried out on such a fuel as gasoline. It is worth noting that, despite the similarity with other tools, it does not have a gearbox. And it is replaced by a kind of single-stage chain transmission, through which the movement of the chain itself (saw) is made.

In fact, a chainsaw is a fairly simple design, but this does not prevent it from being reliable, practical and capable of fully providing direct uninterrupted and cyclical operation even in rather difficult conditions. This tool consists of a huge range of certain elements that are vital for its correct and productive work. This is a carburetor, a direct chain tensioner, a tire complete with a chain and other elements.

To make it easier for you to choose, we have compiled for you a rating of chainsaws in terms of reliability.

Filling the mixture when the mechanism is running

Direct damage can also be caused by pouring the mixture into a candle at the moment when the mechanism is started. In order to solve this problem, it is necessary to turn out and dry the candle, but remember that it should never be ignited. Excess fuel must be drained through the hole (plug), wait 20-30 minutes, then put it back in place and try to start the tool again.

Silencer as the cause of the saw stalling under load

Here’s another reason why the chainsaw stalls when you press the gas muffler. It is this part that can interfere with the full operation of the tool in cases where it is contaminated directly with exhaust resinous deposits. To do this, you just need to clean it.

Cylinder-piston group

Quite often the Partner chainsaw stalls when pressed and the reason for this is cylinder-piston group. Since by examining them, namely the piston and cylinder, you can easily determine the cause of the tool malfunction, directly by replacing them. You can also make a direct boring of the cylinder itself relative to the size of the new piston.

But if after inspection you find that both the piston and the cylinder are not damaged, then the reason may lie directly in the rings (piston). For this kind of check, it is necessary to insert a piston into the cylinder and gently start swinging it by means of a connecting rod. If suddenly you feel a play, then the rings need to be replaced, since they have already worn out.

Not enough fuel to feed and run the chainsaw at full power

If the chainsaw stalls when gas is added, it means that fuel is not supplied in sufficient quantity for the full operation of the chainsaw. This may be due to both clogging of the carburetor (its jet) and contamination of the filter itself (fuel). Remember that the first node should be checked exclusively by professionals, but you can clean the second one yourself.
