I have long decided to use a nut from “Angle Grinder”. It’s the same finished castor wheels with a thread inside! I also decided to take the handle “angle grinder”. It makes no sense to do something by yourself “handshake”, if there are ready-made solutions! Besides, I have enough of this stuff. There is a box with the remains of a power tool in the workshop! Periodically, these residues act as “donors”, But. Nuts and handles DO NOT break (In an angle grinder, the rotor and gearbox usually fail), so a lot of them have accumulated. As you know, the thread is the same on the spindles of all angle grinders. M14. Therefore, it is necessary to use a stud with such a thread as an axis. I used such a pin in the manufacture of the carriage and vice of my cutting machine, so I had trimming.
For the manufacture of the bracket in which the hairpin will be attached, I used a 25 mm strip, the cut of which I found in my “scrap metal”.
I worked with the same stepped drill. (A handy thing, I’ll tell you. And you can drill a huge diameter with a household drill, And you won’t break, no matter how hard you try!)))). However, there are also disadvantages. The material is no thicker than 5 mm, and it is difficult to sharpen.
Next, I cut off the excess with an angle grinder, and the other, using an emery-flap wheel, rounded it off. They gave a more finished look, so to speak:

Initially I thought to just weld the stud to the bracket. “Drip” on both sides, that’s all. But, during the assembly process, they noticed that my curvimeter travels a path for a full stroke, a little more than three meters. (Accidentally so “roundly” happened))). So I decided to secure the stud into the bracket with nuts. Then the full stroke length can be adjusted exactly! It is unlikely that I will ever measure something longer than 3 m, but. But what if ?! ))). Let’s have this option. You roll all the way, turn it over, and roll on, knowing that you turned it over exactly three meters.
Two nuts were probably needed on each side. One inside the bracket, and clamp the other outside.
The design was very cumbersome (M14 nuts are not very small))). And I decided to just cut two nuts in half. (I don’t know what influenced more. The cumbersome design, or the fact that I had only three in stock. Equally lacking!))))
.Since, as I already said, I didn’t have a vise too close, I decided to use a pin. We turned the nut a little, a couple of turns and counterbalanced it with the second. Then he marked it in half, Using the eye as a caliper, and the nail as a planer)))):
