Electric trimmer

– low cost (a good trimmer can be purchased for 2-5 thousand rubles);
– slight noise during operation;

The electric trimmer, in view of its low weight, also has a relatively small power. They can mow the grass near the house, but if the landscape is difficult with differences, then the task is much more complicated. In addition, some shrubs and plants are simply impossible to mow with such a device, the line is constantly torn, and the motor overheats.
In addition, the electric trimmer has other drawbacks: attachment to the outlet. This applies to most budget models. If you want to mow a large area, then several extension cords may be required. In addition, wires can cling to shrubs and trees. Using an electric trimmer after rain is also not recommended, since there is a high risk of short circuit.
There are electric models that work not only from the network, but also from the battery. The weight of the trimmer is significantly higher, instead of the standard 1.5-3 kg, it is 4.5-5 kg, which is not always convenient. Electric models with battery come with a shoulder strap. Such trimmers are an order of magnitude higher: 4-7 thousand rubles.
Petrol trimmer
The gas trimmer has several advantages:

– refueling at any time;
– high performance.
Gas trimmers do not cost much more than electric trimmers, so the price cannot be any special criterion when choosing. The weight of the device depends on how capacious the gas tank is. There are trimmers with tank volume: 0.5 liter, 1 liter, 1.5 liter. The larger the volume, the greater the weight of the trimmer.
There are two types of gas trimmers: push-pull and four-stroke. In the first type, gasoline diluted with special oil is poured into the tank. The second – oil and fuel are poured separately. At the same time, the power of the four-stroke trimmer is several times more, and the noise effect from the work is less.
If the model provides, then in addition to the fishing line on the gas trimmer, you can put a nozzle-rotor, which is designed for cutting small trees and large shrubs. The only minus of gasoline models in the way they are turned on. It is required to pull a special cord-winder, which requires some physical effort.
It is impossible to say unequivocally which model is better, gasoline or electric. It is worth remembering that for mowing grass in large and densely planted areas it is more advisable to purchase powerful gasoline trimmers, and light electric models can also cope with lawn or uniform grass mowing in small areas.
