  • Minerals created in the process of distillation of hydrocarbons;
  • Synthetic oils obtained through natural gas processing or synthesis;
  • Semi-synthetic, including improved mineral oil with the addition of some synthetic components.

In order to prevent mixing of various types, the manufacturer adds a dye to the oil, which shows the difference in the composition of the lubricant.

The choice of oil for lawn mowers

For trimmer motors, it is necessary to select oils with the “2T” marking, which are used for internal combustion engines with a volume of 50 to 200 cm 3 and are air-cooled. The following article is intended to provide some general guidance on the care and maintenance of your new "child". I must say that these recommendations are suitable for outboard motors of any manufacturer. Remember that these are only recommendations and that this article is not intended to replace "Operating Instructions" and official "service manual".

It must be remembered that how you relate to your engine in the first 10 hours, so it will relate to you for the first 10 years. This means that if you intend to keep it in excellent condition for a long period of time, then it is better not to experience its maximum power in the first minutes of operation. The first step is to understand that modern production technologies make it possible to build today’s motors with extremely tight tolerances. This is what happens inside the engine. Piston rings abut in the cylinder with a lot of friction, and a lot of heat is associated with this. To avoid excessive friction, you must take two simple preventive measures.

Firstly, during break-in, as a rule, the first 20 hours or 40 liters of fuel are considered, additional lubrication must be provided. To do this, add additional oil to the fuel for a two-stroke engine. This means adding one liter of oil per 40-50 liters of gasoline, and not per 100 liters, as during the normal period of operation. During the break-in period, it is recommended to avoid the use of various detergents in gasoline. Oil, of course, should be used only high quality and proven. Just look at the photos of the pistons and rings after using bad oil to understand how important this is.

Another precaution is to limit and prevent sudden changes in engine speed. The general rule is to not exceed 85% of the maximum speed during the first 10 hours. Also, do not operate the boat at a constant speed for more than a couple of minutes.

After a preliminary break-in, it is necessary to service the gearbox, since the gears in the leg are run-in and this, as a rule, leads to some metal particles in the gear oil.
