Kopal external chamfering tool provides high performance and external chamfering of parts of rotary bodies type, including multifaceted. Often referred to as an external chamfer deburring tool, and in keeping with its design. it is in essence a reverse taper countersinking tool that can be used on hand operated machine tools or simpler mobile units, up to and including the use with a conventional drill.

The working principle of the back countersink for chamfering is relatively simple. when the tool contacts the workpiece, the guide cone moves in the opposite direction to the feed rate, exposing the blade that cuts the edge of the workpiece.

The Kopal reverse chamfer counterbore consists of a housing with blade holders and a guide cone, which is used to center the device over the workpiece. The body has variations in shank design, cylindrical or Morse taper.

Cheaper bevelers (Zubr, some Rothenberger models) have a metal or plastic (economy class products) body, inside which are placed a small number of cutting plates, usually not more than three.

Pipe sizes that can be processed by Rothenberger cylindrical chamferers 3 36 mm, which in inches is the size of 1/8 to 1 3/8. Some units have slightly different ranges, for example 3/16 to 1 1/2.
