Chainsaw Stihl 180 does not develop momentum reasons

Modern chainsaw ignition

Ignition, on modern gearless chainsaws, is a module, which includes a coil, the electronic board is a transistor type. The ignition system (non-electronic part) includes a flywheel with magnets (magneto), a glow plug, an armored wire (high voltage wire).

What’s inside the ignition module?

Perhaps someone watched videos on video hosting sites and watched the module in a cut. Here are the footage for review from this video below.

chainsaw, stihl, does, develop, momentum

It looks like an ignition coil in a module cut in half

On the other side of the coil is an electronic board, intensively filled with sealant

It is most likely possible to “ring” the board and the coil in the module. This requires a “manual”. electrical diagram of a specific model of a chainsaw. But this procedure will only help to find out the “diagnosis”, to confirm the functionality of the module or lack thereof. It is impossible to repair, as you understand, such a module on your own, both in the field or on a rotational basis, and in services.

Therefore, we, lumberjacks, first of all need to be able to find an ignition malfunction. if it comes down to a module breakdown, then it should be replaced. If a malfunction is diagnosed in other parts of the ignition, we eliminate them. You can check the malfunction of the ignition module without its “ringing”.

Chainsaw repair yourself

Our client is left with chainsaw malfunctions divided into two main groups: engine malfunctions with its complete units, not systems (ignition, fuel supply system, cylinder-piston group, exhaust system) not malfunctions of other units (chain brake, lubrication system, clutch, tire not etc.).

We analyze possible causes of breakdown

Find out why the tool cannot be started in the instruction itself. But the instruction does not always come.

Although each model has its own characteristics, in general they are all similar. Therefore, I will tell you about the possible reasons for the breakdown and possible solutions for different tools.

The main parts of the ignition of a chainsaw

Let’s go directly to the main ignition units of a gearless chainsaw. I will list the parts of the ignition system:

  • Flywheel with magnets (magneto)
  • Ignition module
  • Glow plug
  • Armored wire (high voltage wire)
  • Closing wires (on-off)

Here I call the flywheel magneto. In fact, magneto is the general name for the entire generator, not specifically for the flywheel with magnets. Therefore, do not emphasize my habit of calling, in this case, “things not by their proper names”)).

Common isues with Stihl MS 170 and MS 180 Chainsaws

What is a flywheel? For novice lumberjacks, I will explain that visually it resembles a huge (in a chainsaw) fan gear made of duralumin, the blades of which, when rotating, play, first of all, the role of cooling the engine. The flywheel is installed on the left side of the chainsaw, immediately behind the starter cover. The flywheel is attached to the crankshaft with a key and two studs. A thread is cut at the end of the shaft to fix the flywheel with a nut. This nut must be tightly tightened when installing the flywheel, otherwise it may shear the key, which eliminates backlash. By the way, the key is located on the crankshaft so that when the magnets are aligned with the core of the ignition module, the piston was at the appropriate level (top dead center) for sparking and igniting the fuel.

At the end of the flywheel, among the blades, there are massive magnets with different polarity “north-south”. As a rule, two magnets are installed, but on some models of chainsaws there may be more. Opposite them, on the other side of the flywheel, counterweights are installed, for uniform rotation.

Massive magnets with different polarity “north-south”, which, when the flywheel turns, create a magnetic field

Next to the magneto (flywheel), at a certain distance (gap), an ignition module is installed (a coil with an electronic board in a polymer or textolite “jacket” on a lamellar metal core, which also serves as an attachment to the saw body). The ignition module can be installed from different sides. to the right of the magneto (flywheel), to the left or from above. depending on the model of the chainsaw.

Husqvarna ignition module with high voltage wire

From the module (coil) there are on-off wires (breaker) and a cable (armored wire) mounted in a cap where the glow plug is inserted. The on-off wires have a small cross-section, in contrast to the candle cable, along which high voltage moves. The candle has a side and a central electrode, a body and, accordingly, an insulator. A spark plug is screwed into the cylinder head and transmits a spark to ignite the fuel mixture in the internal combustion engine.

High voltage wire

With proper ignition, the spark is either present or not at all. If the spark is weak, then the malfunction should be sought in the candle itself, or in the power cable (armored wire. high-voltage wire). In rare cases, if a weak spark of a spark plug is observed after repeated replacements of serviceable spark plugs, then a malfunction is still present in the ignition module. In this case, when the tool is running, the faulty module heats up.

It is very rare, but it happens that a high-voltage wire is broken (from personal experience), in case of mechanical stress and in case of overheating. A spark from the damaged cable breaks through to ground (to the cylinder). a short circuit occurs and the engine stops working due to the lack of ignition. In this case, it (the armored wire) must be replaced. How to check the condition of the wire? Only a temporary replacement. an analogue from another serviceable chainsaw. Or in a barbaric way for your health. to hold the wire with your fingers while checking. I hope that the lumberjack has enough “intelligence”, and he will not, thus, check the serviceability of the cable.

By the way, if the cap is faulty (breaks through), then when checking the spark on the candle, when you hold the cap with your fingers, the malfunction will be revealed instantly)). Such a breakdown of the candle cap is usually found in wet weather.

It also happens that the plug cap is not broken, but the malfunction is contained inside the cap. poor quality (or lack thereof) connection of the cable with the landing spring on which the glow plug is mounted. The cause of such a malfunction is the negligence of the user of the tool, who often pulls out the cable from the plug, avoiding careful removal.

What to do if the chainsaw won’t start further?

If the initial inspection did not give anything or the defects were eliminated during the search, and the chainsaw does not start further, then you need to look for more serious reasons. It is best to identify and eliminate such breakdowns in a service center. However, with experience, you can find and eliminate them yourself. What to diagnose and check?

  • Compression in the cylinder;
  • Compression in the crankcase;
  • Carburetor operation.

In the first case, checking the compression in the cylinder will allow you to find out the state of the cylinder-piston group (CPG) of a chainsaw that does not want to start cold. For this you need a compressometer. The device is screwed into place of the spark plug and the engine is idle. Measurement of readings allows you to judge the state of the CPG. In the absence of a compression gauge, the compression in the cylinder can be determined offhand as follows:

  • Place your finger on the candle hole;
  • Try to start the chainsaw engine.

By placing your finger on the spark plug hole and pulling the starter, you can check the compression in the cylinder.

If you feel that your finger is pulling strongly into the candle channel, then everything is in order with the compression. The absence of a vacuum in the chamber indicates a malfunction. The cylinder-piston group needs a more detailed inspection, which will give an idea of the condition of the piston and cylinder, piston rings and bearings.

The chainsaw may not start on a cold one due to the lack of compression in the engine crankcase. The main reason for this is damage to the gasket placed between the cylinder and the crankcase. It is quite easy to detect the lack of compression:

  • Disconnect the upper tube from the carburetor;
  • Pour gasoline into an ordinary cork;
  • We immerse the removed tube in the fuel;
  • We pull the starter several times.

If the fuel is sucked from the cap when starting the chainsaw starter, then everything is in order with the compression. If not, see the gasket.

If the fuel is drawn in, then everything is in order. the gasket is intact. Otherwise, you will have to purchase a repair kit and replace it. How to do this watch the video why the Chinese chainsaw does not start:

Starting the tool can be complicated by improper operation of the carburetor or its breakage. It often happens that during the sawing process, the fastening screws are loosened and air is sucked into the cylinder. Check that the carburetor is securely fastened. Inspect it for fuel leaks. There can be a lot of reasons for the malfunction. It is possible to pinpoint the malfunction, eliminate it and fine-tune the carburetor only in a service center.

After going through the step-by-step troubleshooting of the chainsaw engine, you can find the malfunction, fix it yourself and successfully start your working tool. Do not take on jobs that you are not sure about. Entrust the troubleshooting to specialists from the service center.

One of the reasons why the muffler can clog is the use of a fuel mixture with an excessive amount of oil (the amount of oil is more than the manufacturer recommends), and the use of either oil that is not intended for two-stroke engines or low-quality oil.

Cylinder-piston group. Malfunctions of the cylinder-piston group are among the most serious. This is the worn out cylinder and piston, scratches and scuffs on their surfaces, wear or sinking in the grooves of the piston rings, wear on the crankshaft bearings. Most of these faults lead to a drop in cylinder pressure and, as a consequence, to the inability to start the engine, or its inability to deliver full power. There are several ways to assess the state of the cylinder-piston group (CPG).

You can remove the muffler and look through the opened window, in which part of the side surface of the cylinder is visible. Despite the limited review, a general idea of the state of the CPG in this way can still be obtained.

It is useful to measure the compression in the engine, which is quite informative regarding the condition of the parts of the CPG. The operation is carried out using a compressometer installed in the candle hole.

The crankshaft is turned using an electric motor (drill) with a flexible shaft or manually with a starter, while controlling the pressure on a pressure gauge. There is no spark in the chainsaw, no spark in the chainsaw, ignition coil replacement there is no spark on the chainsaw. No sparks chainsaw. The latter for a working chainsaw should be at least 8-9 atm (0.8-0.9 MPa). With its decrease, the engine power also decreases. At a pressure of 5 atm, the engine may work, but only at idle.

It is possible to accurately assess the state of the CPG only by completely disassembling the engine. by disconnecting the crankcase from the cylinder and removing the piston. If the latter has seizures, chips or deep scratches, it must be replaced. With regard to the cylinder, if the surface is worn out or damaged, it is possible to bore it to the repair size. The reason for the low compression can be wear or coking of the piston ring. A serviceable ring should be clean from carbon deposits, sit freely in the piston groove and press tightly against the inner surface of the cylinder.

In addition, the candle may just break, so it is better to get rid of the cause.

Another reason why the tool is badly damaged and stuck. this is a poor contact between the spark plugs and the high-voltage wire. If everything is okay here, but sparks are still missing, the ignition module itself may break. Such a breakdown can only be eliminated by replacing it.

You should check and clean your air filters from time to time. If you have not tested it since purchase, it could become clogged with dust and cause a malfunction.

In models such as the Calm 180, Ural or Partner 350, breather blocks are clogged, which often leads to breakdown. You can use a sewing needle to clean it.

Stihl 180, Friendship, Ural and Huskvarna 142 models sometimes clog the muffler, it also needs to be checked and cleaned.

If the problem is in the carburetor, you shouldn’t try to fix it without proper experience. It is best to contact a specialist.

If, after checking and fixing the above problems, your saw does not start, then most likely the fault is hidden in the cylinder group.

When you see damage and chips on a piston or cylinder, you will have to replace these elements.

If the cause of the chainsaw malfunction is a leaky plug, it is likely that not enough lubricant is being supplied to the chain. To solve the problem, the pipes are only replaced, and the seams are sealed with a sealant.

The details of the mechanism cannot last forever, so they will need to be changed periodically. To find out which part, you need to look at the instructions.

Why the chainsaw doesn’t slow down

There can be several reasons why the chainsaw does not slow down:

  • broken throttle spring;
  • jamming the gas trigger;
  • the throttle rod is bent;
  • lost throttle shaft corkscrew, causing it to wedge.

It is not difficult to solve all these problems, you need to conduct a careful inspection and determine the exact cause, and then change the faulty part. As a rule, if the chainsaw picks up speed well, idles and has normal power, then the problem with the fact that it does not slow down is purely mechanical. And finding and eliminating a mechanical malfunction is much easier than identifying and stopping air leakage in the crankcase of a chainsaw.

Mesh filter in the carburetor

The last likely place for clogging is the filter in the carburetor. In the diagram below, it is indicated by the number 13.

In order to clean the mesh filter, it is necessary to remove the carburetor from the Stihl 180 chainsaw. Work begins by removing the upper saw cover, after which, using an 8 mm head, two fastening nuts are unscrewed. Further, the filter housing is removed from the guides, after which the air damper rod and the engine control lever are disconnected. Last of all, the fuel hose and throttle rod are disconnected, after which the carburetor can be removed from the rails.

The carburetor mesh filter is installed in the fuel pump chamber, in order to get to it, one screw securing the pump cover is unscrewed and it, together with the gaskets, is removed.

The strainer can only be cleaned with compressed air. Any mechanical methods are strictly prohibited, since the mesh is very soft and easily changes shape. When you press it, it is easily crumpled and bends are formed along the edge of the seat, through which unfiltered fuel can enter the carburetor.

In the process of cleaning, the seat with the filter installed in it must be half-covered with a finger and only after that blow with air, otherwise, the mesh may fly away and it will no longer be possible to find it.

Depressurization of the carburetor and blockage of the nozzle

Sometimes, when the screws securing the carburetor cover are loosened or the gaskets have become unusable, there may also be a loss of power on the chainsaw, in order to eliminate the likelihood of this malfunction, it is necessary to check the integrity of the gaskets and the tightening of the screws on the carburetor covers. To do this, you need to remove it from the engine (the algorithm is described above) and disassemble. Defective gaskets must be replaced using spare ones from the repair kit for the Stihl MC 180 carburetor.

In the case when a complete check of the fuel supply and exhaust system has been carried out, but there are no results. The main fuel injector valve needs to be checked. To check, it is necessary to knock it out of the carburetor body. All work should take place according to the following algorithm:

  • The carburetor is removed from the chainsaw.
  • The four screws securing the cover with the compensator are loosened, after which the cover can be removed.
  • The carburetor is installed on a wooden lining, after which it is knocked out into the internal cavity of the carburetor using a bolt with a diameter of no more than eight millimeters and a length of 50.
  • Next, you need to pick up a small hose, the inner diameter of which corresponds to or slightly less than the outer diameter of the nozzle and put it on the nozzle.
  • The next step is to blow inside the hose. If it is blown only in one direction, the nozzle is in good working order, if it blows in both directions or does not blow at all, then the valve must be replaced.

Why won’t my chainsaw Start. stihl 180

All of the above actions should help in eliminating the malfunction associated with the fact that the chainsaw is not gaining momentum, otherwise, a full diagnosis at the manufacturer’s service center will help.

Muffler

You ask, what is the first? The answer is a muffler. The muffler is responsible for exhausting the exhaust gases and extinguishing the flame in them. All combustion products pass through it, which over time can clog it. The situation with a muffler clogged with soot is far from uncommon, but it occurs due to the wrong fuel mixture.

With a normal ratio of gasoline to oil, the combustion products are not saturated with soot enough to clog the muffler. In the event that the amount of oil is more than the norm, excessive carbon deposits are formed during its combustion. Further, carbon deposits accumulate under the piston rings and in the muffler of the Stihl 180 chainsaw.

Checking the fuel filter

The fuel filter is installed in the tank of the Stihl 180 chainsaw, and it is not very convenient to pull it out. To facilitate the process, you can take a small piece of aluminum wire and bend it at the end, then use it to hook the fuel hose and remove it, along with the filter, from the tank. To check the filter, it is necessary to blow into it, if air does not pass, then the reason has been found, and the filter must be replaced.

If the filter is clean, check the fuel hose for clogging. To check, it is necessary to disconnect it from the carburetor and, with the air filter removed, blow into it. If a blockage is found, the hose can be cleaned mechanically, using a wire, and then blown out with compressed air.

How to check the muffler

To check the muffler, it must be removed from the chainsaw. To do this, using an 8 mm head, two fastening nuts are unscrewed and the part is removed.

Important: after the muffler is removed, it is necessary to check the integrity of the gaskets between it and the cylinder, since very often they stick and break when the muffler is removed.

You can clean the part mechanically, using screwdrivers or a knitting needle, and then blow it thoroughly with compressed air. The muffler seat can be cleaned with emery paper to remove burnt-on gasket parts.

Install the muffler in reverse order.

Important: when tightening the nuts of the muffler, do not pull the nuts excessively, since the threads on the screws can be torn off.

The second reason why the engine of a Stihl chainsaw can reduce power and not develop speed is a blockage in the fuel system. As a rule, the first place where you need to start looking for a blockage is the fuel filter.

The reasons why the Stihl 180 does not develop momentum

Chainsaw Stihl 180 does not develop revs or after you release the gas trigger, it continues to work without dropping the revs. These problems are quite common. Fuel System: Incorrect Fuel Mixture

Two-stroke engines are designed to operate on a mixture of gasoline and oil, which is needed to lubricate the cylinder-piston group. Lack of oil will quickly damage the tool and lead to a major overhaul.

In gasoline powered tools from different manufacturers, the ratio of oil to gasoline is 1:40 or 1:50. This proportion should not be violated in any case. Pouring more oil than necessary will cause coking of the piston compression rings. They will firmly lie in their grooves, and the motor will lose compression and power.

The only exception is the tool running-in mode. In this case, the mixture is made 1:25 and it is used for a short time, with a minimum load.

Signs of an excess of oil in gasoline are as follows: the chainsaw stalls, smokes profusely, does not develop power.

The reasons why the Stihl 180 does not develop momentum

Not gaining momentum

Many systems of the mechanism are involved in the start-up, therefore, the loss of speed of the Stihl chainsaw after idling can be a consequence of various factors. Confident idle operation and interruptions in the motor under load can occur for the following reasons:

  • development of the engine resource;
  • wear, deformation and corrosion of the piston group;
  • malfunction of the ignition coil or spark plug;
  • unbalance of carburetor screws.

If the tool does not develop speed, then the conductivity of the hole in the fuel tank cap is broken. The emergence of a vacuum does not provide the required amount of fuel, therefore the engine does not gain the required power. Turnover decreases when carbon monoxide accumulates in the muffler, it is difficult to remove gases from combustion.

Mesh filter in the carburetor

The last possible blockage point is the carburetor strainer. The chart below indicates the number 13.

At full speed

Sometimes the engine stalls after normal operation

To establish the cause, pay attention to the accompanying circumstances:

  • Motor stalls in the middle of operation for no apparent reason. The starter is stationary and does not turn. It means that the tool is jammed and requires urgent repair.
  • During normal operation, the power is reduced in a short time and the engine stops, the cylinders are overheated. The situation indicates the occurrence of air suction under the rubber pipe between the carburetor cylinder, possibly due to a rupture. Air depletes fuel, nozzle replacement required.

Types of chainsaw malfunctions

Almost any handheld gasoline tool has a two-stroke engine as a power unit. These motors have advantages over four-stroke motors. They have less weight for the same power. But along with this, they received disadvantages in the form of adding oil to gasoline and less efficiency. There are several main faults in the operation of the saw:

  • The engine will not start. Cold start and hot start are different. To start a cold engine, a suction is turned on, which reduces air intake and increases the percentage of gasoline in the fuel-air mixture.
  • The chainsaw starts up and stalls, without gaining the necessary speed. You have to constantly work with the gas trigger, maintaining high revs.
  • Engine stalls when running under load, does not develop optimal power.

Malfunctions can be caused by both mechanical causes and electrical problems.

The main elements of chainsaws

Before starting to delve into the issues of breakdowns and tool repairs, let’s first figure out what the chainsaw itself consists of. First of all, I would like to note that this tool belongs to the category of equipment, the operation of which directly depends directly on the internal combustion engine.

Single cylinder engine

In fact, a chainsaw is a fairly simple design, but this does not prevent it from being reliable, practical and fully capable of providing direct uninterrupted and cyclical operation even in rather difficult conditions. This tool consists of a huge range of certain elements “vital” for its correct and productive work. This is a carburetor, a direct chain tensioner, a tire complete with a chain and other elements.

Filter dirty

In order to solve this kind of problem, all you have to do is disconnect the (fuel) hose from the carburetor and pay attention to whether the fuel is leaking from it. Since if the mixture flows in a full stream, this means that the breather is not contaminated, but if on the contrary, then the cause of the breakdown has been found.

Here’s another reason why the chainsaw stalls when you press the gas. the muffler. It is this part that can interfere with the full operation of the tool in cases where it is contaminated directly with exhaust resinous deposits. To do this, you just need to clean it.

Quite often, the Partner chainsaw stalls when pressed and the reason for this is the cylinder-piston group. Since by examining them, namely the piston and cylinder, you can easily determine the cause of the malfunction of the tool, by directly replacing them. You can also make a direct boring of the cylinder itself relative to the size of the new piston.

But if after inspection you find that there is no damage on both the piston and the cylinder, then the reason may lie directly in the rings (piston). For this kind of check, it is necessary to insert a piston into the cylinder and gently start wiggling it by means of a connecting rod. If suddenly you feel a play, then the rings need to be replaced, since they have already worn out.

Many people ask the question: why does the chainsaw stall when I press the gas? The answer may also lie in insufficient chain lubrication (see oil for the chainsaw chain), since the oil line may leak, or the direct channels may simply be clogged. That is why pay attention to the chain, because if it is dry, then, without delay, start to clean the channels that supply oil directly to the tool tire.

If the tool turns off immediately after starting, it means that a breakdown of some device or part has occurred. To determine the cause, the mechanism is tested independently or in service workshops. Sometimes the reason that the mechanism does not start well is due to improper saw maintenance:

  • insufficient amount of gasoline;
  • poorly prepared fuel mixture;
  • poor quality lubrication;
  • muffler clogged with combustion products;
  • unregulated carburetor;
  • obstruction of the air filter;
  • malfunction of the piston or cylinder.

It is also important that chainsaws are equipped with an engine with one cylinder, and the work of which is carried out on such kind of fuel as gasoline. It is worth noting that, despite the similarity with other tools, it does not have a gearbox. And it is replaced by a kind of single-stage chain transmission, through which the movement of the chain itself (saw) is made.

Why does the chainsaw immediately stall and jam when the gas is pressed

Saw repair after 10 tanks. What sellers are silent about.

The Stihl MS 180 chainsaw has some nuances that make owners nervous and is wasted on expensive.

Chainsaws are fairly reliable and uncomplicated designs. Therefore, if you properly care for them and handle them based on the manufacturer’s recommendations, then they fail well, very rarely and various kinds of breakdowns are quickly eliminated. But if you are faced with this situation and want to personally repair your tool without resorting to the help of professionals, then delve into the information provided below.

In fact, it is unambiguously and precisely impossible to determine the reason why the tool does not start or stalls when you press the gas, since there are a lot of factors affecting this. But do not forget that, starting from the fact that the chainsaw is equipped with a simple two-stroke engine, conditions such as lubrication, fuel, spark and air are important for its effective performance.

Chainsaw fuel tank

Consequently, the carburetor is directly involved in the preparation of the fuel-air mixture, the filter cleans the air from dust, the ignition unit and the spark plug create a spark, and there is lubricant in the gasoline.

That is why it is necessary to search for the causes of this kind of breakdown in a sequential order, starting directly from the simple ones and gradually moving on to the complex ones. And this is an important factor in the correct repair, since the person who, without thinking, begins to disassemble the carburetor, brings it to risk. Since this kind of unit must be repaired or adjusted directly in special workshops (read about adjusting the carburetor).

An important fact is that for the trouble-free operation of the tool, it is necessary to be careful enough directly to the fuel. Since if this kind of mixture is not prepared correctly, then most chainsaws will simply not start. Consequently, not every owner will guess to look for the cause of the breakdown in the fuel. That is why, in order for your tool to always work correctly, you need to use exclusively high-quality gasoline for the mixture.

Otherwise, overexposing the mixture directly in the canister will lead to the fact that it will lose all its octane properties and this will lead to significant problems with the instrument.

Also, the cause of a breakdown can be the direct filling of the mixture with a candle at the moment when the mechanism is started. In order to solve this problem, it is necessary to unscrew and dry the candle, but remember that it should never be ignited. Excess fuel must be drained through the hole (plug), wait 20-30 minutes, then put it back in place and try to start the tool again.

The chainsaw stalls when you press the gas due to the fact that there is no spark. This can happen when there is no good contact between the tip of the candle and the wire (high voltage). However, if this kind of connection works correctly, but there is still no spark, then the whole reason is the ignition unit (electronic). It is important to note that these types of parts cannot be repaired, so they can only be replaced.

If the chainsaw stalls when gas is added, it means that the fuel is not supplied in sufficient quantities for the full operation of the chainsaw. This may be due to both clogging of the carburetor (its jet) and contamination of the filter itself (fuel). Remember that only professionals should check the first node, but you can clean the second one yourself.

At full speed

Sometimes the engine will stall after normal operation.

When you hit the gas

Sawing units are idling, but the saw stalls when the gas is pressed, as the load increases. Before use, the tool is warmed up by running the engine at idle for a minute. If this is neglected, the motor will stop after the pedal is depressed. Other reasons could be:

  • clogged or unregulated combustible fuel mixing unit;
  • a clogged air filter does not provide the required air flow when the load increases;
  • a dirty gasoline filter does not pass the required amount of the mixture;
  • rubs the wall of the cylinder and piston.

Low octane number of fuel causes brakes, since this circumstance does not allow the engine to reach the required power when the load increases.

Violation of the functionality of the fuel unit system leads to air leakage. In this case, the unit stalls at idle and does not keep their number. Additional suction reduces the air impulse to the fuel pump and passes through the sump membrane or crankshaft oil seals. Diagnostics is done with a vacuum gauge.

The termination of engine cold operation occurs for other reasons:

  • the candle channel contains an excess amount of the combustible mixture;
  • the gap between the tip of the candle and the high-voltage cradle is not adjusted;
  • power supply failure.

The oil seals are checked by pouring gasoline into the crankcase, the leak is visible visually. This means that the engine does not idle, and at a high frequency, leaking oil seals will lead to seizure of the bearings. In case of leakage of elements, they are replaced with new ones and they are sealed.

Additional Tips

First of all, what you should remember when purchasing this kind of tool is that certain parts of the saw must be replaced with new ones after their service life (passport) has expired. It is for this reason that the instruction should always be at your fingertips, since everything is described in a detailed way there.

Parts of this kind include: an asterisk (leading), a bus, a part of a system (anti-vibration), and a chain. Since you should not forget that if this “filling” is not changed to a new one at the right time, then these worn-out parts will negatively affect the rest of the chainsaw. It is for this reason that you frequently check the depth of the direct toothing. Remember that it should not be higher than a week 0.5 mm.
